Pancakes with Nana

A storybook about medical assistance in dying

Meet Nana. She gives great hugs, has the warmest smile, and makes the best pancakes Sam has ever tasted!

Lately, though, Sam has had to make the pancakes for their grandmother, as Nana’s cancer makes her feel tired and sick. On their latest visit, Nana has sad information to share: she’s dying.

With this big news come big feelings for Sam. They’re confused, heartbroken, and a little angry. Why would Nana want to die? Who will they make pancakes with now?

This kids grief book helps readers understand dying, death, and bereavement—and how to hold onto memories while losing someone you love.
